Children’s Developmental Disabilities System Redesign

The Department of Health and Welfare began implementing the Children’s System Redesign July 1, 2011. As part of the children’s redesign, the Department is making major shifts from the way it currently does business in order to improve the quality of services and ability to manage services for children with developmental disabilities.

One of the focuses is on improving collaboration among professionals. Interdisciplinary training is a new service that can be provided by OT, PT, and SLP professionals that allows training and instruction to a developmental disabilities professional at the same time the direct service is being delivered.

To learn more about this new service and the children’s system redesign, please visit our website at www.redesignforchildren.medicaid.idaho.gov.

Looking forward to seeing your presentation for our case managers. Thanks for your help!
