Message from Idaho Chapter President, Derek Gerber, PT:
March 24, 2020

While the reported number of COVID-19 cases in Idaho is low at this time, the situation changes for the worse nearly every day and we want you to be as prepared as possible to make decisions about your life and your practice.

We’ve added some COVID-19 resources below including resources from us (Idaho Physical Therapy Association), APTA, the state of Idaho, and the CDC.

While providing patient care via telehealth is technically legal for PTs and PTAs in Idaho, it is not always paid for by payers. Restrictions on payment for telehealth PT may ease up as this crisis continues. A new waiver from CMS allows e-visits with patients. While not considered telehealth, this waiver provides some flexibility for treatment.

We plan to send an additional email tio members about telehealth in the next couple of days and will add updates to this COVID-19 resources web page about telehealth as we find out more.
